Hooray for Spring!! :)

Spring is finally here and I'm so excited! Spring for me means clothes drying on the line outside, warmer weather, staying light outside longer, flip-flops, short sleeves, my birthday ( I'm getting sooooooo old! ), jelly beans, springtime Oreos,......how did I get started on food?? Oh, yeah.....I'm pregnant. :)
Nothing much new is going on around here. I did have my monthly baby check-up a few days ago and thank the Lord, everything still seems to be fine. Won't be long now and I'll be going every 2 weeks. :)
I did try a homemade dishwasher detergent recently, but I'm not sure if I'm totally happy about it. It tends to make my dishes cloudy. Has anyone else had that problem? The recipe I used called for 1 part Borax and 1 part washing soda. I've had streaky dishes before with name brand stuff from the store so what is the lesser of the 2 evils? Eating/drinking out of cloudy dishes from the store brand or from the stuff you make at home? *sigh* They both sound distasteful to me.
Speaking of recipes, I do have a pizza crust recipe that I'm quite happy with. "Happy" because this one actually rises for me. :) You can look it over to see if it's something that would be worth a try. (NOTE: I do make it with 3 1/4 C of white whole wheat flour instead of part wheat/part all-purpose. I also increase the salt to 2 tsp instead of 1 tsp ).
Clint and I also put up a bunch of organic carrots I got free the other day. I peeled, chopped, cooked, pureed, and froze them while he sat on the floor playing with the peelings. :) Some of them will be used for part of Clint's lunch and the rest for various recipes in the near future.
All for now! Need to hang a load of clothes on the line before it gets too late.

I love this time of year, too! I love to see clothes on the line, too, and the smell you get...smells like sunshine...as for the food, my favorite springtime food is cadburry eggs...oh my goodness are they so good! hahahaha...I will start conversations with Jonathan and somehow they are all about food! :)

We use 1 tsp. of baking soda in the detergent section and a little white vinegar in the rinse. Actually, I never really measure so perhaps it's a little more. I know, I know, you're thinking of those baking soda\ vinegar volcanoes you made as a kid, but it really does work for me! we have a Bosch dishwasher and need I say it was a welcome addition for a family of 12? love your blog -Sally Jo
